Indie gaming blog · Surry Hills, Sydney

Cozy corner of the internet for Controller and pastel arcade setup honest reviews & raid nights

No hype, no paid scores. Just an Australian crew playing games to the credits, writing the guides we wish existed, and celebrating the pixel art that makes us cheer out loud.

Who we are

A blog that plays first and posts later

PixelRaidOdyssey started in 2019 as a Discord server for five friends in inner-city Sydney who kept arguing about which JRPG had the best ending. It grew into a full blog run out of a little studio on Commonwealth Street, Surry Hills.

We finish every game before we score it, we disclose every review copy, and we host weekly co-op raid nights that anyone can join. Sweet on the outside, seriously rigorous underneath.

How we work

From first boot to published review

Every article follows the same honest pipeline so you always know how a verdict was reached.

1

Play to the credits

We log a minimum of 15 hours, or a full completion for shorter titles, before a single word is written.

2

Cross-check as a crew

Two editors replay the sticky moments so bugs, difficulty and story beats aren't just one person's take.

3

Write & fact-check

Drafts get a second read for accuracy, spoilers are tagged, and every review copy is disclosed up top.

4

Publish & revisit

Big patches? We update the verdict and note the date, so old reviews never quietly go stale.
